There have been a lot of blog awards flying around lately. With all the love going back and forth, most of us haven't been tagged or tagged anyone for a meme in a while. Don't get me wrong, I am not complaining. My dear friend Piper recently tagged me so I must oblige with more useless information about me. What better topic than Six Unspectacular Quirks about me?
1. I have been known to cut off swollen taste buds so I will stop rubbing them against my teeth. I rub and rub and rub until the taste bud is swollen and red. The only way to stop the madness is to snip it. Once it is gone, so is the discomfort! I know, weird.
2. I am a little bit of a medical marvel. Kawasaki disease at age 5. My first case of gout when I was 18. Rheumatoid Arthritis diagnosed at age 30. Can you say autoimmune issues?
3. I like to sneak into my friend's and family's homes and clean them. I really like to clean; it is my therapy. Cleaning the homes of those I love is just my way of showing them how much I appreciate them. I am careful though and only choose those that are not as neurotic as me; I would freak if someone did it to me!
4. I get the hiccups from eating McDonald's fries and drinking Sprite. Every time. Never fails.
5. I have a secret thing for easy listening. You know the music stations you get on Dish or Satellite? I like the Cool Jazz.
6. I remember numbers very well. I still remember my phone number from grade school. Overall I have a fab memory. Hubs tells me it is time to do a disk defrag.
Bonus Quirk:
I am a controlled rule breaker. I don't think I will tag anyone this time!

Nicely said. I have been tagged a great deal lately. I love the concept. I have been saving mine up for one post.
Gout. My brother has that. What a pain. How do you control it? I am sure it is random for you. I think this is the hardest part about gout...not knowing when.
Oh no RA...a friend's hubby has it bad, are you on meds? I deal with Psoriatic Arthritis, can be like RA but because I have Psoriasis, I was giving the PA diagnosis.
sucks!
cool stuff. wish you would break into my house and clean it. It would be such good therapy fo ryou with it being a pit and all :)
TW: Not only is my gout genetic but my really bad cases came when I was drinking lots of beer during my early college days. Also, I love seafood and chocolate which are triggers. I needed a vice so I switched to redbull...no gout side effects!
Jen The Mom: So sorry about you PA....sucks is right! I am not on meds. They wanted to put me on methotrexate after I had our first boy but that stuff is ugly. I take supplements that have helped a lot with flare ups.
Amy: I would love to break into your house. It may be a pit but that means a happy family lives inside! I will let you know the next time we drive through the buckeye state ☺
Oh my goodness! How on earth do you cut off a taste bud. I cannot fathom how much that would hurt. LOL Hubby stays away from red meat to control his gout.
If you are ever in the area...you have my permission to break in and clean my house.
Also? When you cut off a taste bud doesn't it hurt and bleed? What do you use to cut it off? Is it gross that all I can picture are fingernail clippers? LOL!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeenteresting, very eenteresting ;)
i keep thinking about your so called neurosies...i think it is a good thing....if it wasn't for that you wouldn't be so open, and if you weren't so open, you would be private, and if you were private, you wouldn't be fun, and if you weren't fun, we probably wouldn't like you as much,,,my daughter talks so much you have to smile, but i wouldn't want her changed
Cut off taste buds? Can you do that? Add me to the list of people who want to be your friends for the free housecleaning, and, as for phone numbers, my childhood one is pretty much the only phone number I still have memorized, other than my current cell.
Karen: You have to be VERY careful! ☺ My dad cut down on red meat, beer and chocolate to help his gout. I had to cut out the beer; can not cut out chocolate!
Jenni: It is gross and you are right. You have to use something that can do it quickly. Keep in mind I do not do it for fun ☺ I do it because I am in discomfort; a little more doesn't matter. Don;t worry, I do disinfect!
Red: And this is just the beginning!
Putz: Thanks. This is the kind of comment I think my dad would leave me. Always one to make light and make me feel less self conscious!
YFC: I guess so. I have only done it a handful of times but haven;t lost my sense of taste yet.
I feel a follow up post coming...
#3~ can you be my friend? You can sneak into my house ANY TIME. I love the results & satisfaction of cleaning, but not so much the doing it.
I've been *tagged* for this *meme*, too. I think I'll be posting it today. And, BTW, I'm a longtime rule-breaker myself!
i'm jealous of your number memory! i took up your unspoken challenge and did my own 6 unspectacular quirks on my site too, it was fun. thanks for sharing, and for the sunday morning blogging idea!
I LOVE to clean other people's houses too.. but sometimes they get offended.. so I try not to do it often..hahaha
