Pay it Forward Contest

When Daddy and I found out we were pregnant and having a boy, we were living in the sunshine state. We had this fabulous neighbor that had four of her own kids; two boys and two girls ages 5, 3, 2, and a newborn. She and her husband had decided their family was complete and started to purge some of their kids' clothes. We were the lucky recipients of about 10 large storage tubs of boy clothing. Although we lived in Florida, this family was originally from Boston so the clothes were for all seasons in sizes newborn to 3T. As you can imagine, we were relived to hear the doc say "it's a boy" because we knew life would be a little easier when it came to clothing The Babe. As time has passed and the boys grow, Little Man gets new items and The Babe utilizes brothers outgrown items. As The Babe outgrows items I take them to a local children's resale shop and either trade for clothes for Little Man or take a smaller cash amount; depending on my current cash flow.

Each time I drop off clothes I wish I knew a baby boy that could enjoy these items that have been enjoyed by four boys already. I feel a little cheated when I get my totals and know they are just going to be marked up for resale. The only baby in my family smaller and/or younger than The Babe is my niece, Sydney, and I don't think mom and dad will put her in anything that isn't pink at this point.

I know some of you out there have a boy or two younger than The Babe at 16 months now. So here is my idea. I am going to have a contest to see who will be the lucky recipient of his dandy duds as he outgrows them. You will get them all and what doesn't fit or you don't like please pass on to someone else. He is currently working on outgrowing some of the larger 12-18 month items and vary in season. All the clothes are in gently used if not nearly new condition and I will try not to send any that have stains. Styles are boyish yet have some style and brands run the gamut. You will receive shipments as he outgrows items but I will try to send a number of items together so we save space and money.

Here are the rules:
Comment on this post with your e-mail address by April 8th.
I will place the addresses in a "hat" and have The Babe draw one on April 9th.
I will post the winner so everyone knows and I will e-mail the winner to confirm shipping info.

Good Luck!
